If they release with just 2 - 3 million, sell out quickly, and the install base can't grow for a while cos of stock shortages, there's no way all the launch games will have a chance to sell well and despite many of them being high quality, some are guaranteed to underperform and risk burning their publishers, causing them to hesitate when considering Switch 2 for future games. At the same time, they already know many 3rd parties are planning big games for the system for day 1 and shortly after, ultimately leading to a stronger than usual launch lineup. They personally plan to release multiple heavy hitters in the first few months. My theory is they want to launch the console with maybe double the stock ready to go compared to a typical console launch. ![]() VGC said the H2 launch was to build up stock.
